Jon Kabat-Zinn recently appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s “Super Soul Sunday” to discuss mindfulness and its everyday benefits, and his morning ritual. Kabat-Zinn introduced the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in 1979. MBSR has become a popular form of complementary medicine addressing a variety of health problems; studies have found MBSR to be effective in reducing perceived pain and increasing a sense of calm and well-being.
